Creating Dimension with Flat Stickers

Lift one or two elements from a primary design to draw attention and interest to the sticker. This can be done in a few simple steps:

  1. Remove a sticker from the sticker sheet

  2. Apply 3D Dots®Adhesive to the back of the sticker, but do not peel off the paper backing on the other side of the 3D Dots foam adhesive

  3. Powder the back of the sticker to neutralize the adhesive, you can use our EK Tools Powder Tool for easy application of powder to the back of your sticker

  4. Peel off the paper backing of the 3D Dots Foam Adhesive and place the sticker in the desired position on your craft

  5. Watch our video on adding dimension to your flat stickers!

Creating Focus with Stickers

When placing stickers in a scrapbook layout or paper craft project, the stickers need to be grounded or they will “float”. Grounding a sticker means giving the sticker a specific place or purpose in your project. Use stickers with purpose in mind and you will be pleased with the results.

Cutting and Trimming Stickers

The easiest method for cutting and trimming stickers is to leave the sticker on the release paper and make your trim or cut. If you attempt to cut your sticker AFTER it has been removed from the release paper, it is very likely that the sticker will stick to your scissors, fingers or paper. Trim your stickers on the release paper, and then lift the wanted portion of the sticker from the paper.

Don’t Throw Away Empty Sticker Sheets

You can use empty sticker sheets, or "recycled sticker paper" to layer and overlap stickers before transferring to your project.

Releasing Stickers

It’s a good idea to keep an adhesive remover, like the Adhesive Eraser near your workplace in case you make a sticker mistake. Most adhesive-removing products will neutralize the adhesive on the sticker and allow it to be lifted off the page. Once dry, the sticker will regain its “stickiness” and can be applied to your page.

Placing Stickers

Most stickers are die-cut from a whole sheet of adhesive. It is advisable to remove and discard the outer portion of the adhesive sheet. You are then free to lift the stickers off the release paper without tearing them. This method also allows you to place a sticker back on the release paper if you have decided not to use it.
